Lamaling monastery: was located south west of Bayi town and about 4km from Buchu village.the monastery was until recently the seat of the exiled Dudjom Rinpoche (1904-1987),the former head of the Nyingmapa order.the original temple was built on the hilltop in Zangtok Pelri style.but destroyed by an earthquake in 1930.the octagonal main temple has been wonderfully reconstruction began in 1989 and rises through four storeys,bring in mind the Utse of samye monastery.the building is draped in long strands of wooden prayer beads,the monastery now only extant original image of the Mahottara Heruka.it is kept along with a stone footprint of the Padmasambhava a Dorje Trolo stupa was erected to the west of the ruined temple walls in1987.and since 1989 restoration began in earnest under the supervision of Dudjom Ringpochen’S daughter Semo Denchen and her husband Lama Chonyi Ringpochen.an exquisite Zangtok Pelri Tample and garden complex has been newly constructed on the hillside.the new images of Lamaling represent the best metal casting tradition of the artisans from Chamdo.
